Choosing a wedding cake flavour is easier when you compare how the cakes eat. Honey sponge, custard-filled pastry and nut meringue offer very different textures. We can then discuss how your preferred flavour fits the design, portion count and venue arrangements.
Compare four starting points
| Cake | Layers and filling | Choose it for |
|---|---|---|
| Medovik | Five honey sponge layers with cream | A soft layered cake with honey flavour |
| Napoleon | Seven puff pastry layers with diplomat cream | Pastry and a custard-based cream filling |
| Kyiv cake | Cashew meringue, custard cream, buttercream and a thin chocolate cream layer | A richer nut meringue texture |
| Chocolate Delicia | Chocolate sponge with butter and condensed milk cream | A familiar chocolate sponge option |

Taste with your wedding menu in mind
Consultations and tastings are available by arrangement. Ask us about availability and what can be included. Tell us which two or three flavours interest you, whether the cake follows a full meal and whether you plan to serve other desserts.
Sweetness is personal. Instead of relying on a promise that a cake is “not too sweet”, compare the filling, texture and portion you would enjoy. A small slice of nut meringue and a larger slice of sponge can suit different preferences.
Confirm design and portions together
Send your guest count, reference images and venue details before fixing the number of tiers. We need to confirm how the recipe, finish and structure work together; a flavour choice alone does not confirm that a particular tiered design is possible.
Our portion guide explains serving ranges. Agree whether the venue will serve dessert portions or smaller slices, and tell us if some cake should be kept for later. Discuss allergy requirements early: Kyiv contains cashews, and our kitchen cannot guarantee products free from allergen cross-contact.
Where Korovai fits
Ukrainian wedding bread, Korovai, is a ceremonial bread rather than a cream-filled cake flavour. Its shaped dough decorations and place in a family celebration make it a separate part of the wedding table. If you want both Korovai and a dessert cake, include both in your enquiry and explain how each will be served.
Prepare your wedding enquiry
Send the date, venue postcode, portions, preferred flavours, design references, allergy requirements and budget through our custom cake form. Enquire early so we can discuss availability. For delivery, agree a receiving contact and suitable storage with the venue; our York venue guide provides a checklist that is useful for other venues too.
