Cake delivery in York: coordinating with your celebration venue

Give the venue team the information they need to receive, store and serve your cake.

When a cake is going to a celebration venue in York, the event start time is only one part of the delivery plan. We also need to know when staff can receive it and how it will be looked after until serving. We arrange delivery from our Leeds bakery by agreement and quote for the individual order.

Ask the venue four questions

  • Who will receive the cake, and what number should be used for the handover?
  • During which agreed window can the venue accept it?
  • Where will it be stored before display and serving?
  • Who will remove decorations and cut the portions?

Ask about the cake box and board dimensions if storage space is limited. Share the cake-specific care instructions with the venue team. Do not assume that a venue provides a cake stand, knife or plates; confirm what is included in your booking.

Include access details with the postcode

A full delivery address and postcode let us assess the destination. For a venue, also provide the entrance to use, any access restrictions and a contact who will be present. If the receiving window is fixed, tell us before the order is confirmed.

We will discuss whether the proposed cake and delivery plan are suitable and confirm the quote. Read our delivery arrangements for the distinction between local celebration cake delivery and suitable products sent by post.

Choose a flavour and a serving plan

For weddings or a larger shared celebration, start with our wedding cake flavour guide. It compares honey layers, pastry, nut meringue and sponge, and explains what to discuss at a consultation.

For a smaller occasion, browse whole cakes and tell us the number of dessert or buffet portions you need. If the venue will cut the cake, agree the intended portion count with them so the first few slices do not use up a disproportionate amount.

Design and flavour need to be planned together. Send a reference image if you have one, then let us confirm the appropriate size, finish and transport arrangement for that cake.

Keep the final instructions in one place

Your order brief should include the date, venue address, receiving contact, proposed delivery window, portions, flavour, decoration and allergy requirements. If a planner or venue manager will take over communication, tell us who can confirm changes.

Use our custom cake enquiry for the cake brief. If you are choosing between venue delivery and collection from Leeds, mention both options so we can discuss what fits your day. Avoid arranging an additional handover or onward journey without checking how the cake should travel.

These are the sorts of things Olga ends up explaining in messages before she confirms an order: what travels well, what complicates delivery, and what is better kept local.

Honey Cake (Medovik)

Better for local delivery or collection

Start with Honey Cake (Medovik)

Honey Cake (Medovik) is the kind of cake Olga suggests when the order needs a proper celebration finish, local delivery, or collection rather than parcel-post packing.

Questions people ask before ordering

The practical details that matter first

These are the bits customers usually want answered before they commit: freshness, delivery timing, and whether a postal cake is the right fit at all.

Do you deliver wedding cakes to York?

We arrange York delivery by agreement. Share your date, venue, portions and design so we can confirm availability, suitability and the delivery quote.

Can the cake arrive before guests?

Tell us the proposed receiving window and confirm it with the venue. We will agree the delivery arrangement before booking, including who will accept and store the cake.

Will the venue cut the cake?

Check this directly with your venue. Agree who will remove decorations, how many portions are needed and what serving equipment is provided, then share the cake care instructions with that person.

Choose the format that suits the journey

If the parcel has to go across the UK mainland, start with the cakes by post range for standard-design honey cake, honey cake slices, or caramel biscuits vacuum-packed for post. If the order depends on height, chilled fillings, or a detailed design brief, browse the custom cakes range for the celebration options that are better suited to local delivery, collection, or UK delivery by agreement.
