We arrange cake delivery from our Leeds bakery to Wakefield by agreement. For a family celebration, start with the serving plan: how many people want cake, whether it follows a meal and whether you want some left for the next day.
Turn the guest list into a serving brief
Consider a lunch for 12 people. If everyone wants cake as their dessert, tell us you need 12 dessert portions. If there is also a dessert buffet, explain that you plan smaller slices. These are different briefs even though the guest list is identical.
Do not assume that every child needs half a slice or every adult needs a large one. Count the people who want cake and describe the portions you have in mind. If you want leftovers, include them in the order rather than relying on the upper end of a serving range.
Our cake size and portions guide lists the serving options available for several current cakes. We will help match the order to your plan.
Choose a flavour people recognise
Chocolate Delicia combines chocolate sponge with butter and condensed milk cream. It is a useful starting point when your guests enjoy chocolate and you also want to discuss a birthday design.
Medovik honey cake has five honey sponge layers with cream. Its soft layers give a different eating experience from a conventional sponge cake. For a comparison with pastry and nut meringue cakes, read our Ukrainian cake guide.
Check guests' dietary requirements before settling on a flavour. Our kitchen handles allergens, and we cannot guarantee that an item is free from cross-contact. Tell us the specific allergy when you enquire and read our allergen information.
Arrange the Wakefield handover
Send the full delivery postcode, celebration date and the time the cake needs to be ready to serve. We quote local delivery individually and confirm availability before booking. If collection from Leeds suits your plans, mention that too so we can discuss the alternative.
Choose one person to receive the cake and pass on the care instructions. If the party is elsewhere, include the second journey in your plan: receiving a cake at home does not solve transport to the venue later in the day.
A brief you can send us
“A cake for 12 dessert portions at a family lunch in Wakefield. We prefer honey or chocolate, would like a simple birthday message, and need delivery to this postcode on this date.” Add the guest allergy details, any design reference and your budget.
Send your brief through our custom cake form. For the difference between local delivery and postal gifts, see delivery and collection.
