If you are looking for a nut-free cake in Leeds, please read our kitchen policy first: products are made in a kitchen that handles allergens, so no item can be guaranteed completely free from cross-contact. We cannot offer a guarantee of a nut-free cake.
Ingredients and cross-contact answer different questions
An ingredient list tells you what goes into a recipe. Cross-contact concerns allergens that could reach food during preparation, handling or storage. A recipe without nuts as an intentional ingredient is not the same as a cake guaranteed free from nuts.
Removing a nut decoration or choosing a different filling does not establish that an order is suitable for a guest with a nut allergy. Read our allergen information and tell us the specific allergy before discussing an order.
Check the whole finished cake
Our Kyiv cake contains cashews in its meringue layers. Some other products have optional nut additions. A cake's name or photograph does not give the full ingredient information, and a decoration change can also change what needs to be checked.
Ask about the actual recipe, filling, coating and decorations for your proposed order. If a group is choosing flavours, gather allergy requirements before taking a vote. Do not rely on a guest removing a topping at the table.
What to tell us before ordering
- The specific allergy, rather than only “dietary requirements”.
- Which cake or design you are considering.
- The date and number of people you plan to serve.
- Whether a particular decoration, filling or ingredient has been requested.
Use our contact page to discuss the requirement before buying. We will explain the available ingredient information and our kitchen policy. If your requirement is a cake guaranteed free from nut cross-contact, we cannot meet that requirement.
Keep the information with the cake
When someone orders on behalf of a family, workplace or venue, make sure the person serving has the ingredient information and understands the bakery's cross-contact statement. Avoid describing a cake as “nut-free” simply because the chosen recipe does not list nuts.
Keep the packaging and order information available when serving. If you are uncertain about the ingredients or the suitability of an order, resolve that uncertainty before offering it to the person with the allergy.
