What is a cake card? Contents, personalisation and packaging

A cake card combines a greeting-card presentation with a small cake gift. We show what our birthday versions contain, where the message goes and what to check before sending one.

A cake card brings a greeting and cake together in one gift. Our birthday cake-card products contain two honey-cake slices, with card-style presentation and personalisation options.

This is a small food gift rather than a whole celebration cake. It can be opened and enjoyed without arranging a party or cutting a large cake.

What the recipient opens

The Happy Birthday Cake Card includes two slices, a personalised front message and a free gift note. The image shows the wrapped slices and card presentation together. Designs and available options should be checked on the selected product.

The 50th Birthday Cake Slice Card is another two-slice option with milestone birthday presentation. Choose the occasion that suits the recipient; the name does not imply an extra slice.

If you specifically want an image or message on the cake, look at Birthday Gift by Post. Do not assume every cake-card product includes the same personalisation.

How much cake is enough?

Two slices can be shared by two people or enjoyed by one person, depending on appetite. For a group gift, decide how many people you want to include and order the appropriate quantity. For a larger celebration, discuss a whole cake and its serving count.

Our postal gift comparison explains one-slice, two-slice and personalised formats without treating presentation as a measure of cake quantity.

Before sending the card

Confirm the recipient's address and availability, and check ingredients before choosing a food gift. Our honey-cake products contain wheat, eggs and milk, and the kitchen cannot guarantee freedom from cross-contact. Read allergen information for the checks we can make.

If letterbox fit is important, ask for the packed dimensions of the selected product and use our receiving checklist. We confirm preparation and delivery arrangements before the order, and the recipient should follow the care instructions supplied with the cake.

Send a box with two cake slices by post — the perfect alternative to a postcard

Useful if the cake has to travel

Start with Happy Birthday Cake Card

Happy Birthday Cake Card is prepared as a vacuum-packed parcel for UK post when you want slices, biscuits, or standard-design honey cake that can travel neatly.

Questions people ask before ordering

The practical details that matter first

These are the bits customers usually want answered before they commit: freshness, delivery timing, and whether a postal cake is the right fit at all.

Is a cake card a whole cake?

Our birthday cake-card products contain two honey-cake slices with greeting-card presentation. They are small food gifts rather than whole celebration cakes.

Can we personalise the card?

The birthday cake-card products offer personalised message options. Check the selected product, and confirm the name, age and wording before preparation.

Is the message printed on the cake?

That depends on the product. A cake-card greeting and a gift note are different from a photo or message on the cake. Choose a product that explicitly offers the personalisation you want.

More notes if you are still weighing it up

These are the pieces people usually read next when they are deciding what can go in the post, what should stay local, and how much fuss the delivery should involve.

Need the practical answer?

Choose the format that suits the journey

If the parcel has to go across the UK mainland, start with the cakes by post range for standard-design honey cake, honey cake slices, or caramel biscuits vacuum-packed for post. If the order depends on height, chilled fillings, or a detailed design brief, browse the custom cakes range for the celebration options that are better suited to local delivery, collection, or UK delivery by agreement.
